Use YouTube music and ambience during a D&D session

The floating YouTube dock keeps a visible player and saved links beside the tabletop, without reducing the map to a background panel.

Choose music for the scene

Open the YouTube music control and provide a video link. The dock supports playback controls and saved links so the group can return to a useful track. A quiet scene and a busy encounter may need very different volume levels; check the listening experience with the party.

A visible official player

Media streams directly from YouTube. The app stores playback metadata rather than downloading or hosting the video. The official player remains visible and needs its minimum viewport; it should not be hidden or shrunk into an audio-only workaround.

Players join playback through the interface. Read the app’s music privacy notice and YouTube terms before joining. A saved link is not a guarantee that the video will remain available or embeddable.

Keep the table usable

Move the dock to a convenient position, or close local playback when it is distracting. Personal playback choices and the group’s shared playback controls serve different purposes, so check the label before pausing or changing a track. The map remains full-screen behind the floating controls. If a video cannot be embedded, choose another permitted link.

Quick steps

  1. Open YouTube music.
  2. Load a suitable video link.
  3. Join playback after reviewing the notice.
  4. Adjust volume and save useful links.
