Conditions, damage types and manual HP changes

Track conditions per token and attach damage types to actions, keeping manual HP corrections separate from typed attacks.

Conditions belong to the placed token

Poison, injury and concentration describe a character’s current situation in a campaign. The app tracks status on each placed token rather than permanently changing the reusable character. Supported conditions can affect attacks, checks, saves or movement.

Damage types belong to the action

Fire, cold or another damage type is part of a particular attack or item use. There is no universal token-wide damage-type switch. Defences use typed choices, with conditional notes retained where a rule cannot be reduced to a simple resistance.

Manual HP plus and minus controls are adjustments. They are useful for corrections, but they are not a substitute for choosing a typed attack and expecting all of its consequences to resolve.

Avoid double corrections

After an automated action, inspect the result before making a manual change. Temporary HP, resistance or a protective effect may already explain the final health value. Applying the same damage again would create a second injury. For unsupported circumstances, make the GM’s decision explicit and use the appropriate control once.

Quick steps

  1. Choose an action with the correct damage type.
  2. Review existing defences and conditions.
  3. Inspect the resolved health change.
  4. Use manual HP controls only for the intended adjustment.
