How do I play music and save a session playlist?

Everyone · Interface & account · Updated

The GM chooses a YouTube link and can save links for quick changes. Eligible players join playback on their own device.

Step by step

  1. The GM opens Music and pastes a YouTube video link into the dock.
  2. Each player aged 16 or over chooses Join playback to enable the optional connection and sound.
  3. Use your volume or mute control to adjust what you hear locally.
  4. The GM opens Saved music and chooses Save a link to keep a named shortcut.
  5. Click a saved entry to switch tracks; drag the dock by its header to reposition it.

Keep the official video player visible

YouTube streams directly to each browser. The app saves links and small playback settings, not music or video files. The official player must remain visible and large enough for its required controls; this is not a hidden audio-only player.

The dock can be moved independently of the map. Its Keep on top option helps keep it visible when other panels are open.

Why playback may pause

A browser may require a click before allowing sound. Playback also responds to visibility safeguards: hiding the tab or obscuring the player can pause it locally. If you fall out of sync, use the offered rejoin or enable-sound control; the GM can also sync playback.

Privacy and availability

Joining is optional and connects your browser to YouTube and its storage technologies. Close the dock to disconnect on your device. Under-16 accounts cannot join embedded playback. Some videos may prohibit embedding, be unavailable in a region or be removed by their uploader; try another permitted video.
