How do I upload, rename and delete maps?
Use Maps to organise your campaign’s scenes, upload an image and choose the map everyone plays on.
Step by step
- Open the GM menu and choose Maps.
- Choose the map upload control and select a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF image under 12 MB.
- Select the map you want to use for the table.
- Edit the map’s name from its title control, then confirm the change.
- When a map is no longer needed, use its delete control and read the confirmation before continuing.
Prepare a useful map image
A clear overhead battle map is easiest to align. Keep an original copy on your device so you can upload it again later if needed. A grid printed on the artwork is part of the image; the app’s movement grid is a separate overlay.
After uploading, calibrate the overlay before placing the encounter. If the map has its own scale, check it carefully: the app’s displayed grid currently uses 5 feet per square.
Maps are a GM tool
The GM manages the map library and chooses the active scene. Players use the shared active map rather than browsing the GM’s collection. Uploaded images still need permission to use and share with your group.
An empty campaign is OK
You can remove the final map without losing access to the campaign menu or characters. The GM sees an option to upload a map, while players wait for the next scene. Deleting a map is different from deleting the campaign.
