Measure distances and move tokens on the battle map

Use the shared ruler and token movement guides to plan movement, while the calibrated grid keeps measurements consistent with the scene.

Measure the scene before committing

The ruler lets you check distance on the map. Movement guides use the same map coordinates and clear when the interaction ends. This makes it easier to discuss a route without leaving permanent marks across the scene.

Move the token itself

Drag the centred token button to move a character. Decorative artwork does not enlarge its targeting area. A plain readable name helps identify the intended character when several tokens stand close together.

Zoom and pan are scoped to the map; menus keep their own scrolling. Trackpad gestures support exploring the scene, but dragging a token should not simultaneously change the map scale.

Distance still needs context

A measurement describes geometry, not every rule of movement. The GM may need to adjudicate terrain, routes, obstacles or a special ability. If a distance seems wrong, check calibration before changing the character’s speed. For actions, the app validates cast distance on execution; an out-of-range click cancels the armed aim rather than silently sending an invalid attack.

Quick steps

  1. Check the map grid first.
  2. Use the ruler to inspect distance.
  3. Drag a token to its intended position.
  4. Confirm unusual movement with the GM.
