Choose and review pages for a homebrew class import

Use page selection to include the complete class rules without sending unrelated chapters, artwork or another class’s progression.

Keep the rules together

A class can be spread across several pages: an introduction, a progression table, feature descriptions and subclass options. Selecting only the overview can leave the importer without important details. Include all pages needed to explain the class you intend to use.

Understand the page limit

The local preparation flow allows up to 40 selected PDF pages. Within the limit, the whole PDF is read by default. Larger documents need an explicit selection. The AI input also has a 60,000-character server limit, so a page count alone does not guarantee the extracted text will fit.

The app does not silently cut off the end of your rules to make the request smaller. If you need to narrow the input, do so deliberately and review what remains.

Check extracted text before reading

Look for missing table rows, headings separated from their feature text, and rules that refer to a page you left out. If an important passage is absent, correct the selection before requesting an AI draft. Keeping a complete, focused source improves the usefulness of the draft more than adding unrelated material.

Quick steps

  1. Locate progression and feature pages.
  2. Include any referenced subclass rules you need.
  3. Review every selected page’s extracted text.
  4. Submit only after checking completeness.
